Thinking back to when you committed to a partner, past or present, what has surprised you most about how the relationship evolved over the years?

  1. Since we have become empty nesters, our relationship has strengthened. We have more time for each other and less stress of running to sports games, keeping up with all of their activities etc.

    1. This is definitely going to be the next evolution in our relationship, and I can’t wait to see where it goes after all the kids leave.

  2. An unexpectedly pleasant surprise is how far each of us will go to take care of our family. We didn’t date very long before getting married – we knew each was a family person, but I think the remarkable level of commitment we each have to our children and each other wasn’t something that was obvious when I look back at that moment we knew we’d get married.
